Ok, so I've had this website going for a little while, and nobody has come to visit as far as I can tell. Perhaps a bit of blogging will help. My first shot at this, so be patient....

I signed up for the CHIRP staff tix to see The Orwells at Beat Kitchen on my bday. It's an all-ages show, so I thought it would be a lot of fun to take my 13-yr old. Most of the band members are only 5-6 yrs older than him. Their debut, which I've been getting to know by playing a cut from it on CHIRP nearly every Wednesday night, is a fuzzy, snotty adolescent blast. Not sure if my boy will cotton to it, but I know that I like it...
We went to The Alley first on the way to venue, to get in the mood...

Got to Beat Kitchen before the 1st of 3 bands even went on. Got stamped & went out for some food. Got back in time for 2nd band. Stood awkwardly by CHIRP table (teen in a cool environment + dad = weird) when the text from homebase came in. Little bro injured in wrestling accident....please come home he's bleeding everywhere. So, I hope it was a great show for all who attended....the room was very excited, you could feel it. Here's how my bday/Orwells/sondate ended:
3 staples to the 6-yr old's head. Oh well, maybe I'll be able to get tix to The Orwells after their 2nd album....
Over & out.
Over & out.
